"Yoga chitta vritti nirodha.", said Patanjali. It means, yoga stops the fluctuations of the mind.

I have been practicing yoga asanas (poses) - the most popular aspect of yoga - since I was a child as I saw my father do it every single day. Yoga, though, is a lot more than the asanas. The ultimate aim of yoga is to realize the ultimate truth of life, and asanas are there to stabilize and prepare the body for that journey.

I'm trained as a Hatha Yoga teacher in the Sivananda lineage, and I take my practice beyond the poses. Hatha Yoga is a part of the eight limbs of yoga philosophy - my practice & guidance includes all eight limbs. I also build awareness of the chakras, and how each asana works on different chakras. In each session, there is focus on:

1. Pranayama - breath control (different breathing practices)

2. Asana - poses (Sthira Sukham Asana - Stable, Comfortable Pose)

3. Dharana & Dhyana - Concentration & Contemplation (guided meditation)

4. Relaxation

If you're a beginner, or want to deepen your practice, you may choose from the following offerings:

Yoga is not just about the pose.

Yes, it's important to come into the pose - the asana - but that's just the beginning.

The real work is in holding the pose - from 30 seconds to one minute to two to five, & beyond -

such that you can meditate in the pose because it's now so stable & comfortable. Sthira Sukham Asana.
